Summer Nightastic makes its way to Walt Disney World

You may remember that last summer Disneyland Resort hosted the Summer Nightastic, introducing a new fireworks show, the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade and some updates to Fantasmic!.  Yesterday, Walt Disney World announced that it’s their turn.  Here’s what’s in store for Walt Disney World guests this summer:

  • Disney’s Main Street Electrical Parade will return to the Magic Kingdom for the first time since 2001.  Led by a new Tinkerbell float and featuring other new scenes inspired by Snow White and Pinocchio, the new parade is set to premiere in early June.
  • An All New Magic Kingdom Fireworks Show will replace Wishes for the duration of the Summer Nightastic celebration.
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror will receive new effects and a new drop profile just for the event.
  • The Sounds of the Summer Concert Series will be returning to Epcot.
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom will see some Extended Park Hours.

Disneyland’s New Fantasmic! Dragon Delayed – The Forum Rumours Aren’t True

nightasticThough it’s true that the new Maleficent dragon for Fantasmic! at Disneyland is going to be delayed due to technical issues, it’s not because its head fell off, as poster “Skipper S” on MiceChat claimed.

Maleficent’s dragon form will join the show “later this summer”, Disneyland officials told the Los Angeles Times.

This is why we don’t get news from the likes of the forums at MiceChat, DisBoards, WDWMagic et al, people.  Contrary to what they may claim, those sites’ forums aren’t the authority on all things Disney – no matter who they claim they know within the house of the Mouse.

First performance of Magical at Disneyland

Disneyland showed its new fireworks show “Magical” to the public for the first time on Wednesday evening, and Mouseplanet have some video on the wonder that is YouTube, which you can see below. The video is in two parts, click continue for part two.
