Performer dies at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

A performer at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular died on Monday night at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during a rehearsal for the show.

Anislav Varbanov, 30, was taking part in a rehearsal for the popular show at around 7pm when he suffered a head injury during a tumbling roll.  He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead a 8:53pm.  Performances of the show have been canceled for at least Tuesday.

Just over a week before this latest accident at Walt Disney World, Mark Priest – a performer in Captain Jack’s Pirate Tutorial over at the Magic Kingdom – died following a fall during a show in Adventureland.  Both of these accidents come just a month over Walt Disney World Monorail Piolet Austin Wuennenberg died when the monorail he was piloting was hit by a reversing monorail at the Transportation and Ticket Centre.

The thoughts of all of us here at Reflections of Imagination are with the families of all three of the Cast Members during this difficult time.
