Disneyland Paris Cast Members Strike, Disrupt Parades

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

cfdt3DLP.info is reporting that cfdt, CFTC and UNSA – the three unions that represent Cast Members at Disneyland Paris – have been striking inside the Parisian Disney theme parks this afternoon, causing the cancellation of the parades in both parks.

The strikes reportedly took place in the Production Courtyard and on Main Street USA at the scheduled start time for the Stars and Cars and Once Upon A Dream Parades (2pm and 5pm respectively).  In both cases, DLP.info reports that the announcement of the cancellation of the parades was met with boos and hisses from the assembled crowds who had been waiting in below-zero temperatures for the parades to start.

No, not the new area at the Universal Orlando Resort, Alnwick Castle.   The castle which featured in two of the Harry Potter films as the location for Hogwarts has hired former Disneyland Paris vice president Christian Perdrier.

The Duchess of Northumberland, who owns the castle, told the BBC: “Christian can do for visitors to Alnwick what Walt Disney has done for children and families all over the world.  Disney is synonymous with excellent customer service, superb staff training and unparalleled visitor experiences.”
